About

The notebook

tripledoubleleague keeps a short, careful list of hotels in four categories: art, capsule, casino and ice. There are eleven at the moment. Each category has a coloured cover on the home page and a ruled page of its own.

Why keep it short

Fewer entries means each one gets proper attention. Every hotel was picked because its category is what you would travel for, and every page can be re-checked in an afternoon.

Writing rules

Plain sentences. Where the hotel is, what the building is like, what sets it apart. Prices, ratings and guest reviews are left out on purpose: they date quickly, and the hotels publish their own.

Hotels don't pay for a place and can't buy one. When something changes, such as a closure or a new name, the entry is edited or dropped.

Not a booking service

tripledoubleleague has no rooms to sell and no reservation system. To stay at a hotel listed here, go to the hotel itself.
